One cannot turn a blind eye on the notion that digital technology can restore the films for
generation, remarked P.K Nair former director National Film Archives in India(NFAI).
He was inaugurating a seminar on ‘First century of Indian cinema preserving,
heritage, celebrating, diversity, restoration curtain’. Since digital
technology is not a standardized format, it is not capable to assimilate new
forms of technology. Moreover image quality is also a matter of concern and
could only guarantee upto 20 years of longevity for the film. He expressed the
concern in an emotional way.. A memento in respect to his selfless contribution
towards Indian cinema was presented to him. Theodore Bhaskaran
,Aruna Vasudev ,Nasreen kapoor, Venkitesh Chakravarthy ,Mohan Krishnan ,C.S
Venkiteshwaran and Bina Paul Venugopal attended
the function.
