18th IFFK-Seminar-Digital technology needs to prove itself: P.K Nair

One cannot turn a blind eye on the notion that digital technology can restore the films for generation, remarked P.K Nair former director National Film Archives in India(NFAI). He was inaugurating a seminar on ‘First century of Indian cinema preserving, heritage, celebrating, diversity, restoration curtain’. Since digital technology is not a standardized format, it is not capable to assimilate new forms of technology. Moreover image quality is also a matter of concern and could only guarantee upto 20 years of longevity for the film. He expressed the concern in an emotional way.. A memento in respect to his selfless contribution towards Indian cinema was presented to him.   Theodore Bhaskaran ,Aruna Vasudev ,Nasreen kapoor, Venkitesh Chakravarthy ,Mohan Krishnan ,C.S Venkiteshwaran and  Bina Paul Venugopal attended the function.
