NFDC (National Film Development Corporation) announced the seventh edition of Film Bazaar from November 20-24 ,2013




Film Bazaar Co-production Market , first of its kind in South Asia and run by NFDC (National Film Development Corporation) announced  the seventh edition of Film Bazaar from November 20-24, alongside International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. NFDC has also invited  entries for the Co-production Market at Film Bazaar 2013. The deadline for applications is July 30, 2013. There is an entry fee of INR 3,500.It offers  a unique opportunity to filmmakers with South Asian stories seeking international co- productions as well as artistic support. Every year, the Co-Production Market invites a select number of directors and producers to present their projects to international producers, distributors, sales agents, funding representatives and other financial partners from across the world. Film Bazaar Co-production Market boasts of a range of successful films that were part of the past editions: Lunchbox (Ritesh Batra), Monsoon Shootout (Amit Kumar), Titli (produced by Dibakar Banerjee) and Deool (Umesh Kulkarni). These films  are shown and being shown in International Film Festivals of repute. Film Bazaar Co-Production Market 2012 showcased 26 South Asian projects from across the globe including an Independent Filmmaker Project, USA.

48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival(KVIFF) will also host two restored silent films from the 1920s.


The first film that would be restored is  J.S. Kolar's "The Arrival of Darkness," a Czech film to be screened in honor of the country's 70th anniversary of film archiving. Alfred Hitchcock's 1927 film "The Ring" will also be shown, and both films will feature live musical accompaniment

48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will also host two restored silent films from the 1920s.The first is J.S. 48th KVIFF to be opened by Michel Gondry’s Mood Indigo (L’écume des jours)


Michel Gondry  ,eminent French director ,will present his latest film Mood Indigo (L’écume des jours) during the gala opening ceremony of the 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.The festival held in the Czech Republic will run from June 28-July 6 and screen more than 200 films with six world and seven international premieres. Mood Indigo (L’écume des jours) , a  strikingly poetic fantasy story about the power and resolve to make any kind of sacrifice for a loved one stars Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris. The adaptation of Boris Vian´s cult novel was produced by StudioCanal in association with Brio Films. Gondry’s works have regularly featured on the Karlovy Vary programme, thus it is a great honour for the festival to be able to screen his latest title in the presence of the filmmaker himself. The festival to present a profile of Kurdish cinema. Up to 15 features and shorts, whose directors are connected by their Kurdish origins, will be featured in the section Focus on Kurdish Film. This section will highlight Yılmaz Güney’s Yol (1982), considered the cornerstone of Kurdish cinema, as well as several recently produced motion pictures whose topics somewhat differ from the aforementioned classic work. Many of the films were shot as coproductions with Western European countries, including the brand-new film Before Snowfall. Produced in part by the Kurdish regional government of Iraq, its talented director Hisham Zaman lives and works in Norway. The festival will include Wheatley, Madmony, Hřebejk and Krauze in the competition section

Awards in 6th International Documentary & Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) distributed

The names of awardees has been announced during the closing ceremony of the 6th International Documentary & Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) which was held from June 7-11 in Thiruvananthapuram announced its winners. The closing ceremony was inaugurated by Ommen Chandy ,Chief Minister of Kerala. K.C.Joseph, Minister for Culture, Dr M.K.Muneer, Minister for Panchayat ,Priyadarsan ,K.B .Ganeshkumar ,etc attended the closing ceremony.
This or That Particular Person directed by Subasri Krishnan won the  bestshort documentary film. The short documentary award carried a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.To Let directed by Spandan Banerjee won the Best Documentary award .The best long documentary award carried cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and a certificate. Ningal Aranaye Kando?  directed by Sunanda Bhat won a Special Mention in this category. Ridiculous directed by Abhishek K S won the award for the Best Campus Film with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/ and a certificate to the creative team. The Special Mention in the campus film section went to Who am I? directed by John Lango. In the music video category, The Drowning Song directed by Sandhya Daisy Sundaram was adjudged the Best Music Video with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/ and a certificate .Jury made a special mention to Balikkurrippu directed by Sathyan Odessa. The recognition for the best animation film went to Black O’ White jointly directed by Jithin Das and Sibin Anto with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/ and a certificate A Special Mention for short fiction went to Bhinti Maage (Behind the Wall) directed by Vishwesh Kolwalkar.Sourav Sarangi, who turned cameraman for his documentary CHAR- the No Man’s Island was bestowed with the Navroze Contractor award for the Best Cinematographer
