8th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK)from 26th to 30th June, 2015 at Thiruvananthapuram

The 8th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala  will be held in ,Thiruvananthapuram from the  26th to 30th June, 2015. The festival is being organized by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of  Dept of Cultural Affairs, Govt of Kerala
There will be a National Level competition for long documentaries, short documentaries,
Animation and short fiction films produced or coproduced in India between 15th April 2014 and 30th  April 2015. The following awards will be given:

a) Best Long Documentary (40mts and above) with a cash prize of Rs 1.00 lakhs and a certificate.
b) Best Short Documentary (under 40mts) with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/ and a certificate
c) Best Short Fiction (under 40mts) with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/ and a certificate
d) Best Animation (30mins and below) with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/ and a certificate.
e) Best Music Video (7mins and below)with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/ and a certificate

State Level Competition (For Campus Students)

Campus films competition for films produced between 15th April 2014 and 30th  April 2015 by students from Educational Institutions above Higher Secondary level based in Kerala:
There will be a competition for short fiction films for bonafide students studying within Kerala .The films will have to be 20min or under in duration. The director of the film has to be above 18years at the time of production. The jury will award:

Best Campus Film (20min and below) with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/ and a certificate to the creative team.

Registration may be made before 7.00pm on the 30th April 2015 and preview material to reach latest by 5.00pm on the 2nd May 2015:

The Jury of the 68th Festival de Cannes

The Jury of the 68th Festival de Cannes
Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, directors, screenwriters and producers, will be the two Presidents of the Jury of the 68th Festival de Cannes.
This year they will be joined by seven key figures in world cinema from Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Mali, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The Jury will thus be made up of nine distinctive voices – four women and five men – each with the same voting rights. Their task will be to decide among the films in Competition and select the prize winners, culminating in the Palme d’or, which will be announced on stage during the Festival Closing Ceremony on Sunday 24th May.
