23rd International Film Festival of Kerala -IFFK 2018- IFFK celebrates INGMAR BERGMAN centenary year with a special section of his six films.

Most renowned Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman at 100. The master  craftsman who revolutionised cinema  and brought new levels of psychological realism  to moving images but his work too often lazily dismissed as depressing and overloaded with symbolism

"Ingmar Bergman’s place at the heart of the world cinema canon is assured and yet he is often regarded as more of a duty than a pleasure. His films are as full of joy and lust for life as they are with probing psychological fragility and agonising over the meaning of existence"-joe sommerlad

23rd International Film Festival of Kerala -IFFK 2018-Donbass directed by Sergei Loznitsa in world cinema section.

Image result for donbass film
Sergei Loznitsa’s  ghastly new social-realist portmanteau film about the civil war in eastern Ukraine."In the eastern region of Donbass, a hybrid war blends open armed conflict, crimes and looting perpetrated by separatist gangs. In Donbas, war is called peace, propaganda is erected in truth and hate claims to be love. A journey through the Donbass is a series of crazy adventures in which the grotesque and the tragic mingle like life and death. This is not a tale about a region, a country or a political system but about a world lost in the after-truth and false identities. This concerns each of us."

"Another cri de coeur by Sergei Lonznitsa, set in the eastern region of Ukraine, reveals the degradation of civil society in the post-truth era "- Variety
