18th IFFK-Indo-German films still have universal significance: Meenakshi Shedde



Indo-GerMan team made films in the pre independence era still have universal significance and relevance, remarked Meenakshi Shedde, Curator of Expressionism- the Indo German connection while delivering a lecture at Nila Theater in connection with the 18th edition of International Film Festival of Kerala. Shedde was explaining about the importance of ‘Expressionism, The Indo German Connection’ category, prior to the screening of ‘Blue Angle’ . Shedde also point out that Himansu Rai’s ‘Light of Asia’ directed by German directed Franz Osten was the first Indo German co-production film and was a milestone .The role of foreign film makers such as France Austin who directed 14 films in India including ‘Achuth Kanya’ ought to be analyzed in a deeper manner, she said while concluding her talk.
