Michael
Haneke’s Amour bagged the best film, best director, best actor (Jean-Louis
Trintignant) and best actress (Emmanuelle Riva) in the 25th European Film
Awards. Amour is a Palme d’Or winner of
this year’s Canes Film Festival. Michael Haneke's bleak portrayal of an elderly
couple's last days will strip filmgoers of the delusion that love can conquer
all. In 2009, he earned his first Palme d'Or for The White Ribbon, a study of the origins of terrorism set in a small German town on the eve of World War I.Hisother films like Piano Teacher
also won many a coveted awards in very well known film festivals.Every year,
the various activities of the European Film Academy culminate in the ceremony
of the European Film Awards which are presented jointly with EFA Productions gGmbH.

them European Film, European Director, European Actress and European Actor, the
European Film Awards annually honour the greatest achievements in European
cinema. The Awards Ceremony takes place in Berlin every second year. In the
other years, the Awards travel: London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Warsaw,
Copenhagen, and Tallinn.
