17th
edition of the International Film
Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is scheduled to open with The Ring by Alfred
Hitchcock. the entire screening would be with a live orchestra playing the music and
background scores instead of the regular Dolby digital surrounding system. The 1927
film directed by Hitchcock has been restored by the British
Film Institute from its archives. Other restored films of Alfred Hitchcock will also be screened in the Retrospective Section.
They are The Lodger, The Pleasure Garden, Champagne, and Downhill.
