Celebrating centenary of feature films in India at IFFI 2012

 A special award of Rs 10 lakh has been instituted, as a  part of celebration of the centenary of feature films in India, at the 43rd international Festival of India. Shri Shankar Mohan, Festival Director, IFFI said, the special Indian Cinema Centenary Award will be bestowed to a film chosen from three nominations from the festival programme – International Competition, Cinema of the World and the Indian Panorama. A specially constituted jury which will have Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Goutam Ghose and Kishwar Desai, will adjudge the nominations, wherein the winner will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh, Silver Peacock and a Certificate. Shri Mohan  added that total cash award will cross one crore 10 lakh rupees in this festival.
