''Portraits in a Sea of Lies' by Carlos Gaviria – Colombia- bagged the Golden Crow Pheasant award for best film in the 15th IFFK 2010.

Spanish film ''Portraits in a Sea of Lies' 'by Carlos Gaviria – Colombia- bagged the Golden Crow Pheasant award for best film in the 15th International Film Festival of Kerala which concluded today. The film, received a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh and a certificate,the Silver Crow Pheasant award for the best director went to Argentinian ''The Last Summer of La Boyita''. Julio Solomonoff ,the director received Rs four lakh and a certificate .The ''Rajatha Chakoram'' prize for the best debut film was bagged by Turkish film ''Zephyr'' directed by Belma Bas. These prizes were adjudged by a jury headed by African-American director and academic Julie Dash. However the audience poll by the delegates of this edition of IFFK supported ''The Japanese Wife'' , an Indian film in Bengali directed by Aparna Sen and which won the Rajatha Chakoram award .The Netpac (Network for promotion of Asian Film Centre) award for the best Asian film went to ''I am Afiya Megha Abhimanyu Omar'' by Onir Anirban from India. Netpac award for the best Malayalam film was bagged by ''Veetilekkulla Vazhi'' (The way home) directed by Dr Biju.The FIPRESCI award( Critics’ prize) went to ''Buried Secrets'' by Tunisian film maker Raja Amari. FIPRESCI award for the best Malayalam film was bagged by Lenin Rajendran. ''Makaramanju'' (Mist of Capricorn).The Hassan Kutty award for the best Indian debut film, instituted by Mira Nair in memory of her colleague Hasankutty, went to ''Chithra Surtam'' by Vipin Vijay. Renowned director Maniratnam and and his actor wife Suahasini attended the function as guests of hnour.A cultural programme was presented and the award winning film screened during the finale.
