Submissions for the 30th African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival
are now open!

How to apply

It’s now possible to submit films to take part in the next edition of African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival, which will take place in Milan from 23rd to 31st March 2019.
Applying is simple, it only takes two steps:
  1. fill in the entry form, after reading the rules
  2. send us a screener for the selection (subtitled in English or French), preferably by link or on DVD, to the Festival Office.

Deadline: December, 20th 2019

The Festival’s sections

There are three competitive sections at Milan’s African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival:
“Windows on the World” Feature Films CompetitionPrize euro 8,000*
Fiction and documentary films made by directors from Africa, Asia and Latin America (minimum running time 60 min.)
The competing feature films in 2019.
African Short Films Competition
Prize euro 2,000*
Fiction and documentary short films made by African directors (maximum running time 59 min.)
The competing African short films in 2019.
Extr’A Competition
Prize euro 1,000*
Fiction and documentary films made by Italian or Italian-based directors in the three continents (Africa, Asia and Latin America) or related to immigration, integration and interculture in Italy.
The competing Extr’A films in 2019.
2nd MiWorld Young Film Festival – MiWYA real festival in the festival fully dedicated to schools, evolution and empowerment of the educational and didactic activities of the COE Association in the framework of the FESCAAAL. A special program of films for new generations with eyes open to the world.
Award of the 1stMiWY in 2019.

Only films and videos made in 2019 and 2020 – that preferably have not been previously screened in Italy – can take part in the competitive sections.
The non-competitive sections consist in special and thematic sections, retrospectives and tribute sections, as well as the Flash section, presenting significant previews of recent films by established directors, critically acclaimed films or films that have received awards at the most important international festivals.
Film submissions are free of charge.The deadline is on 20th of December 2019.
