22 nd INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF KERALA (22nd IFFK 2017-DECEMBER 8th to 15-PACKAGES FINALISED.

The 22 nd edition of the festival scheduled from December 8^th to 15^th of December 2017, will be inaugurated on 8th December evening by Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of  Kerala  at the Nishagandhi Auditorium ,Thiruvananthapuram .A.K.Balan,Minister for Cultural Affairs will preside over the function. Madhavi Mukherjee ,the renowned actor from Bengal will be the guest of honor. Life time achievement award will be presented to the illustrious director from Russia Alexander Sukrov. Six Sukrov films are included in the retrospective section of the fest.Other retrospectives are that of Lino Brocka , Philippine’s director (Lino Brocka was a radical filmmaker whose socially conscious films explored the plight of the marginalized and ignored sectors of Filipino Society.Lino Brocka died in a car accident on May 21, 1991) and K.P .Kumaran ,well known Malayalam director. In the section Contemporary Masters in Focus ,films of  Mahamat Saleh Haroun ,director from Chad and Michel Franco ,the Mexican director are included.‘Identity and Space’ section has six films. Contemporary Asian Cinema, Japanese Animation films, Restored Classics ,are other packages.Festival will pay homage to Kundan Sha, K.R.Mohanan, I.V.Sasi  and Ompuri who departed us this year and screen their selected films . Delegate registration for the fest begins on 10th november 2017.
