Baz Luhrmann's latest film, "The Great Gatsby," will open 66th Festival de Cannes


The Australian film maker Baz Luhrmann's latest film "The Great Gatsby," will open 66th Festival de Cannes on May 15.The Great Gatsby,starring Leonardo di Caprio is the remake of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic novel. Baz Luhrmann's "Moulin Rouge!" opened the 2001 festival .Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan will be seen sharing the screen space with Hollywood stars Tobey Maguire and Leonardo Di Caprio as Meyer Wolfsheim in the  Great Gatsby. Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg will preside over the main competition Jury selecting Palme d’ or prizes. Jerome Salle's film Zulu , starring Oscar winner  Forest Whitaker and Orlando Bloom  ,will close the 66th Cannes film festival on May 26 . India, special guest country in Cannes in 2013 to celebrate a century of its cinema. Jane Campion will preside over the short films and Cinéfondation Jury. Un Certain Regard section Thomas Vinterberg will be the President of the Jury and The Bling Ring by Sofia Coppola  ,the opening film.
