The
Entertainment Society of Goa in association with the European Union will host the
18th European Union Film Festival from 19th to 30th
April 2013 at Maquinez Palace, Panaji. The Inaugural ceremony will be attended by
Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister, Vishnu Wagh, Vice Chairman – ESG and Fredrika Ornbrant, Consul General of Consulate General of
Sweden on 19th April 2013 at 5:00pm, Maquinez Palace- Audi I.The
Inaugural function will be followed with the screening of a Swedish film
“Beyond”. The theme of the 18th edition of the festival is
”Celebrating Women” and 24 films each from a different EU member
state will be screened. Films included for screening are “Altiplano”, a Belgium
film by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, “Lora from Morning till Evening”,
a Bulgarian film by Dimitar Kotsev, “Little Girl Blue”, a film from Czech
Republic by Alice Nellis, “Applause” a film from Denmark by Martin Pieter
Zandvliet, “After Five in the Forest Primeval”, a film from Germany by
Hans-Christian Schmid, “Graveyard Keeper’s Daughter” a film from Estonia by
Katrin Laur, “Your name is Justine” a film from Luxembourg by Franco da
Pena, “Eccentricities of a Blonde-haired Girl”, a film from Portugal by
Manoel de Oliveira, and “Fast Girls”, a film from the United Kingdom by Regan
Hall.
