94 films to compete in the 5th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala(IDSFFK-2012)


The 5th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala will be held in Thiruvananthapuram ,Kerala from 8th June to 12th June 2012. The festival,  is being organized by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy for the Dept of Cultural Affairs, Govt of Kerala, as part of its endeavor to catalyze a vibrant documentary and short film movement. The festival aims to map and reflect the exploding nature of the medium in its many facets of creativity and resistance.94 films including 14 animation films,6 campus films,10 long documentaries,7 music videos ,23 short documentaries, and 34 short fictions  have been selected in the competition section of the current edition of the IDSFFK-2012. There were 620 entries competed in all the six categories. 31 Short films and documentaries from various countries would be screened in the international section of the festival. In the `Homage` section, eight films of eminent documentary filmmaker Richard Leacock would be screened. The Films of Adela Peeva and Amar Kanwar  are the other  highlights of the 5th edition of this fest.
