5th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala(IDSFFK) concludes with award presentation.


Chief Minister Oommen Chandy  inaugurated the  closing ceremony of the  five day long Fifth International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala . K.B. Ganesh Kumar, Minister for Cinema , gave away the awards. The awards included a certificate of merit and cash prize. Shashi Tharoor, MP; Priyadarshan ,Chairman ,Chalachitra Academy; Jayaraj ,Jury Chairman;Amar Kanwar, filmmaker ,Manojkumar,Secretary and Beena Paul ,Deputy Director ,spoke .Noted filmmakers Adela Peeva and Amar Kanwar were felicitated. The ceremony was followed by screening of the award-winning films and documentaries. The awards for best long documentary carries a prize money of Rs 1 lakh. The award for best short documentary and short fiction carries a prize of Rs 50,000 each. The best animation and music video have a cash award of Rs 25,000 each.  For best campus short fiction and best documentary cameraman, the prize money is Rs 10,000 each. Each award also carries a certificate of merit. Award-Winning   films:

The Jury Special mention for long documentary :  ‘Earth Witness: Reflections on the Times and Timeless’ by Akansha Joshi.
Short Documentaries:  ‘I am Micro’ directed by Shumona Goel and Shai Heredia
The Jury special mention in the Short Documentary:  ‘The Five Elements’ by Mohan Kumar Valsala and ‘Girl with the Kite’ by Walter D’Cruz.
Short Fiction :  ‘Bombay Snow’ by Chinmay Nagesh Dalvi
The  Jury Special Mention for Short Fiction :  ‘Rizwan’ directed by Deepthi Kurana and ‘Sattu’s Goggles’ by Shaheen Muhammed.
Best film in Animation  :  ‘Karim Barber’ directed by Tushar B More
Best Music Video ‘Inspiration’ directed by Viveka Chauhan
 Best Campus Film ‘One Rupee Tip’ directed by Rojin Thomas. 
 Best Documentary Cameraman: Sunny Lahiri (Five Elements)
