The 46th edition of International Film Festival of India will open with Mathew Brown's film 'The Man Who Knew Infinity' on 20th November,2015 at Panaji,Goa.
Written and directed by
Matthew Brown, The Man Who Knew Infinity is the true story of friendship that
forever changed mathematics. In 1913, Ramanujan a self-taught Indian mathematics
genius traveled to Trinity College, Cambridge, where he forged a bond with his
mentor, Professor GH Hardy who helped reveal his mathematic genius to the
world.
Growing up poor in Madras,
India, Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar earns admittance to Cambridge University
during WWI, where he becomes a pioneer in mathematical theories with the
guidance of Professor G.H. Hardy. Highly engaging performances by Dev Patel in
the lead role and Jeremy Irons as his curmudgeonly mentor gradually warm up the
Cambridge story. His evolving friendship with professor, who championed his
brilliance against racism and prejudice, is the real core of the film.
Matthew Brown has written and
directed the feature film Ropewalk. The Man Who Knew Infinity is his second
feature film.The cast and crew of the film will be presented during the opening ceremony of the
festival
