The Official Selection of the 65th Festival de Cannes
Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom will be the opening film in the 65th Festival de Cannes - Cannes 2012 -set to begin on May 16 . Berenice Bejo, co-star of silent movie The Artist, will host the Cannes film festival opening and closing ceremonies. Tim Roth will head the Un Certain Regard jury at this year's Cannes film festival. The Cannes Film Festival has named early Nanni Moretti as its Jury President for this year's festival. The Italian director has been a longtime favorite of the festival, winning the Palme d'Or in 2001 for his family drama "The Son's Room" as well as a director prize in 1994 for his film "Dear Diary."The Official Selection of the 65th Festival de Cannes was announced this Thursday, 19 April during the press conference held by Gilles Jacob and Thierry Frémaux at the Grand Hôtel in Paris. Philip Kaufman, American screenwriter and director, will be leading the Master Class for the 65th Festival de Cannes. Kaufman will talk to Michel Ciment about his craft as a film-maker, his experience on-set, the challenges and the pleasures of the profession – in short, his passion for cinema. For this occasion, the Festival de Cannes will present his latest film: Hemingway & Gellhorn, in the Official Selection on the Out of Competition category
