  • Bombay Rose

  •  Gitanjali Rao's debut  film Bombay Rose in hand-painted animation format,after  making huge waves at Venice International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Busan Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, and IFFI, Goa,  is now included in the Kaleidoscope section of 24th IFFK.Bombay Rose, as the title suggests, is a story set in Mumbai, and also harks back to 1960s, when Bombay (as it was called then) was a more pluralistic society, according to Gitanjali. "One period is of 2005, when dance bars were shut down by the moral policing of the government, and what it did to the women employed there. They were forgotten. Society was very happy those dance bars were gone but these women had a raw deal. They're still fighting the court case. Then it talks about when child labour was banned. Children below the age of 14 were not allowed to work, but they weren't given any alternative. Juvenile homes were far worse in terms of criminality than working outside. So when governments take those calls, the aftermath is not pursued even by the press. Having lived through those times, these instances stayed with me."

And Kanthan, The Lover of Colour portrays the life, survival and purely ritualistic life of the Adiya community, a group of tribal people living at Thirunelli Colony in Wayanad, Kerala, India. They live as a tribal flock under their chieftain. The base of adiya group is their ethical life which is an amalgamation of nature and tradition. Nowadays They have been a populace who is tormented by natural calamities along with the encroachment of urbanization. Agriculture is their source of living. And RAVULA is their tribal language, The first film in RAVULA language which is not having a manuscript

  • A 14-year-old boy living in the islands is out in search of his elder brother, Akbar. The remarkable journey he undertakes forms the premise of the movie.The actor turned director Geethu Mohandas's second feature is a considerably busier enterprise than her first, 2014’s well-received road drama “Liar’s Dice.”

  • Ghawre Bairey Aaj is inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s novel “Ghawre Bairey” (Home and the World), and is a contemporary retelling of the triangular love story involving Tagore’s characters Nikhilesh, Sandip and Bimala. It is as much a story of passionate romance as it is of clashing ideologies in the present times, and the way these clashes affect love and friendship.Aparna Sen is one of India’s most celebrated writer-directors and actors introduced by celebrated director Satyajit Ray.
