Rituparno Ghosh, young and powerful auteur of Bengali cinema , is no more



Rituparno Ghosh, one of the most talented ,powerful young film directors of the country, died at his home today morning. The multiple awards winning filmmaker was 49. Rituparno Ghosh shot to fame by directing a children's film Hirer Angti in 1994. Ghosh was born on August 31, 1963 in Kolkata. His father was a well known documentary filmmaker. His other widely acclaimed films include Unishe April ( 1994 ) ,Dahan, (1997  ) Bariwali(1999  ), Asukh(1999  ) Utsav( 2000 ), Titli(2002)  Shubho Mahurat ( 2003 ),, Chokher Bali(2003  ), Raincoat( 2004 ),  Antarmahal( 2006 )    ,Dosar( 2006 ),The Last Lear( 2007 ),Khila( 2008 ) ShobCharitro Kalponik( 2008 ),Abohoman ( 2010 ) Noukadubi(2010)  Sunglass( 2012 )and Chitrangada(2012  ). Ghosh had been working on a new film, titled SatyanweshiKahaani director Sujoy Ghosh essays the role of legendary detective character Byomkesh Bakshi in Ghosh’s adaptation of Chorabali by Saradindu Bandopadhyay. The shooting for the film had recently been completed.
