Love With Accent will open 10th edition of Vladivostok International Film Festival



Love With Accent (,Russia, 2012, 100 min ) directed by Rezo Gigineishvily  would be the opening film and White Swan (Russia  Russia, 2012, 87 min )directed by Sofya Arzhakovskaya (Skya), Robert Cromby  ,the closing film of  the 10th edition of  Vladivostok International Film Festival, also known as Pacific Meridian .It is an International Film Festival of Asian Pacific Countries viz. countries surrounded by Pacific Ocean and countries of South-East Asia including India. Film Festival is held annually in one of the most beautiful places on the Pacific Ocean coast - Vladivostok. The Festival was instituted in 2003 and 2012 will celebrate its 10th edition, September 22 – 28 ,2012. Vladivostok is a very beautiful and exciting city, place on the hills. Three sides of it are washed by sea waters. Vladivostok is 9288 km far from Moscow and 400 km close to Tokyo and Seoul. It' s geographical location gives us entrancing chance to get acquainted with unique cultures of Asian and Pacific Countries and enjoy them. Every of these countries is a pearl in the necklace of Pacific cultural treasures. 10 feature films  and 10 shorts of Asian Pacific countries are in the competition fray.There are many sections in the festival. Panorama, the best  , is   having 8 films which received numerous awards at international festivals, including Asian Pacific counties. Each film is an event and a cinematography masterpiece in itself. Panorama  ,Russian presents latest 11 most outstanding works of Russian cinematographers. Panorama Tropes , is  a program introducing 5 films, which were made using new ways of film creation. These films establish a new language of cinematography which is considered a pivotal moment in the history of cinema.  Documentaries: Art of Living includes 5 documentaries  which tell stories of unique people. Some of them are outstanding and well-known around the world and some are ordinary people who have made an extraordinary choice in life. Documentaries: Ocean  contains 5 fascinating films about nature ,presented by the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival. Focus on Hong Kong is a  10 films package  from the HONG KONG FILM ARCHIVE. The program is dedicated to the 100 years of Hong Kong cinema and presents the historical benchmarks of the national film school. Focus on DPRK section is having 3 films illustrate modern national cinema of North Korea .6 films in Focus on spy thriller section  are about the most dangerous and romantic profession. Classical films of different years, Shorter film Selection , Animated shorts etc are other attractions of this festival. For the first time ever the award of the international organization NetPac will be given to the contestants at the anniversary film festival “Pacific Meridian”. There are 9 films presented from different festival programs for this honorary award.. . Kirill Razlogov , from Russia , Bina Paul (India), Sam Kho (Hong Kong) are members of the NetPac jury.
