Indian Panorama – 42 nd International Film Festival of India 2011- selection of 24 feature films and 21 non‐feature films announced.

The jury for Feature films, headed by renowned filmmaker Ms. Sai Paranjpye, selected 23 films out of a total of 118 eligible entries. Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu which won Best Feature Film award at the recent 58th National Film Awards is the 24th film of Indian Panorama, by virtue of direct entry. The Non‐Feature film Jury chaired by well‐known writer‐director Shri Ashok Rane, picked up 21 films out of 135 eligible entries. In the feature films category, the maximum number of films selected- 7- are from Malayalam,3 each from Bengali, Marathi and Hindi, one each from Konkani, Telugu, Manipuri, Tamil, English, Kannada, Assamese and Bhojpuri.
The Feature Film Jury choose URUMI (Malayalam, Director : Santosh Sivan) as the opening Film of Indian Panorama.
